Stephen Kearney and the Liberal Democrats have received a massive response to a survey of local people in the Henley constituency. In the first two days alone, over 1,000 responses have already been received to the survey conducted by Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg.

The survey is also available on-line at www.henleylibdems.org.uk

Liberal Democrat Candidate for Henley Constituency, Stephen Kearney said:

Nick Clegg Residents Survey

Nick Clegg Residents Survey

"I'm really grateful to Nick Clegg for conducting this survey. It has helped our campaign for local people to get off to the best of starts. This flurry of responses in the first two days alone is a tremendous response and really encouraging. I believe it is really important that politicians listen to what local people have to say. As a local MP I will always listen to local people. I will hold regular advice surgeries and really listen to what people in local communities have to say. I will be a full-time, energetic and local MP.

"It is clear from reading the surveys returned so far that there is a lot of anger at Gordon Brown's Labour Government and what it has done to communities in the countryside and a lot of mistrust still for the Conservatives. There is a real feeling that local services have been drained from local communities by successive Labour and Conservative Governments. Many local villages have found their local Post Office is now closed or under threat. People are very angry that Gordon Brown's Labour Government are continuing the work of the last Conservative Government in decimating the local Post Office network. Only the Liberal Democrats have a strong record of fighting to protect local Post Offices."
