Henley Lib Dem Campaign Green Action

The environment is a key issue to the Liberal Democrats, and we are keen to do our bit for the environment as a part of our campaign.

We know there is still much more we can do, but we have several initiatives in place to ensure that our campaign here in Henley is the greenest of the major parties, and our greenest by-election campaign to date. They include:

• Our Thame Campaign HQ gets its electricity from "Good Energy" - a supplier of 100% renewable electricity

• Our campaign HQ recycles waste paper, plastics, cans and bottles

• We are using "Evolve" (www.evolve-papers.com) 100% recycled paper

• Our web site (www.henleylibdems.org.uk) is hosted on a carbon offset server

• Bulbs are mainly low energy fluorescent tubes

• Our campaign is promoting a members car-sharing scheme for visits to the constituency

• We are actively promoting our HQ's position on National Route 57 of the National Cycle Network - www.henleylibdems.org.uk/henleyhq/ - as a sustainable transport option

• We recycle our laser toner cartridges by sending them back to the manufacturer when empty

Additionally, we have a water cooler from www.aquaid.co.uk who support two causes, Christian Aid and Pump Aid, both focusing on supplying clean, pumped water in Africa. Since 1998, they have been able to donate in excess of £2m.
